As we begin what is undoubtedly the biggest week on the apprenticeship calendar, National Apprenticeship Week beginning today, Monday the 5th through to Sunday the 11th. More people than ever are choosing to invest in their future through apprenticeships, and during this week we celebrate all the reasons why. Across the week we will be showcasing how this year’s theme ‘Skills for Life’ not only benefits apprentices but also local communities, businesses, and the wider economy. We will be looking at, celebrating, and sharing success stories from both our apprentices and employers.
What is National Apprenticeship Week?
This week really puts the focus on just how great apprenticeships really are. Why people, of all ages, are seeing the benefits of not only learning whilst working (and earning), gaining qualifications, and benefiting from working alongside people who can share that real on the job experience that you can’t get from a classroom.
This year is the 17th annual week bringing together everyone passionate about apprenticeships to celebrate the value, benefits, and opportunities that they bring. It’s a week-long celebration showcasing and celebrating apprenticeship employers, training providers, assessment organisations, apprentices, parents, schools, colleges, and universities. All with the aim of showcasing the very real benefits of apprenticeships, the progression opportunities and more.

The January 2024 Apprenticeship Statistics for England has revealed;

So, whilst some people may look at apprenticeships as being opportunities for ‘young people’ the data implies that the tide is changing.
It certainly supports this years theme of ‘Skills for Life’. If you’ve thought about how you could future-proof your career or perhaps you’re thinking about how you could grow your business, this week will definitely give you a lot to consider.
What Is This Years National Apprentice Week Theme?
National Apprenticeship Week have said;
‘The theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2024 is “Skills for Life”. We encourage everyone to consider how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and employers to develop a workforce with future ready skills.
The week-long celebration of apprenticeships, taking place across England, will showcase the impact apprenticeships can have on communities, local businesses and regional economies and how they all benefit from the impact of apprenticeships.
We cannot wait to see the celebration of apprenticeships across virtual, face-to-face and hybrid events. The number of apprenticeships available in digital, data, green, environmental and technology roles is increasing and developing in new and innovative areas.’
