Little Toes Day Nurseries are a family-run business with a passion to provide exceptional childcare within a home from home setting. Their nurseries offer safe, nurturing surroundings for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Inspired by the work of Anna Ephgrave’ focusing highly on the children learning through play, children take the lead in their learning.

  • Salary: £6.40 per hour, 40 hours per week
  • Hours: Monday to Friday shifts between 7.30am and 6pm.
  • Location: 111 Sutton Road, Mansfield, NG18 5EX
  • Qualification: Early Years Practitioner Level 2 takes approximately 16 months.
  • Start Date: FEBRUARY 2025

So, what will your day to day look like?

You will be supporting with providing high quality care to young children.

Daily tasks include:

  • Contributing to a programme of activities tailored to each child’s needs and interests.
  • Recording children’s learning and development journeys, and sharing these with parents, carers, and other key adults.
  • Liaising with and supporting parents, carers, and other family members.
  • Attending activities that are out of working hours (e.g. staff meetings, training, and events etc.)
  • Being flexible and prepared to help where needed (including domestic jobs e.g. preparing meals, and cleaning toys etc.)
  • Following the ethos of the nursery, creating a warm and friendly environment.
  • Ensuring that EYFS is promoted efficiently and that its policies are followed correctly.
  • Helping with the smooth running of the Nursery.
  • Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role.

How does the Apprenticeship Work?

You will be working towards your Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Qualification and attend 1-2-1 meetings via teams every month to discuss your progress with your tutor and learn about modules including child development from birth to 7 years, safeguarding, promoting wellbeing, supporting activities, purposeful play & educational programmes, and more!  You will have a minimum of 6 hours per week to complete apprenticeship work which includes assignments, research, and training within your role. All apprenticeship work is completed in the workplace during your working hours.

What skills/qualifications or personalities would be suited to this role?

  • You must have a minimum of English/Maths GCSE 4/C to apply for this role and you must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
  • Team working, energetic & positive attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety and Safeguarding.
