Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm.

HR Support Level 3

How LONG will it TAKE me?

16 months

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

  • WORK Full Time, PAID Full Time
  • 1-2-1 Monthly Sessions (via Teams) with your dedicated Tutor (NO college!) to study KEY MODULES:

o   Business Fundamentals

o   Legislation & Policies

o   Role Fundamentals

o   HR Service Fundamentals

  • 6 hours a week Apprenticeship Study Time, to focus on:

o   Assignments, training & development activities

o   Hours are agreed with your manager, either split across the week, or on a set day

  • Regular PROGRESS Reviews with your Tutor & Manager – you will ALWAYS know how you are doing
  • Final Assessment(s) inc. multiple choice tests, projects & presentations –  with full support from CT Skills!

Options for Care provides mental health recovery services in Birmingham and the West Midlands. The organisation delivers these services through two inpatient hospital units and one community recovery home. The organisational goal is to support service users to realise their potential with improvement and developments in quality of life, leading to a gradual progression through the recovery pathway to eventual discharge.

WHAT’S in it for ME?

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a small, dynamic HR department. You will support the Head of HR and the HR Assistant in providing a comprehensive HR service. Alongside the HR department, you will also provide general administrative support to the Learning and Development Co-ordinator.

DAY to DAY, you will….

  • Provide admin support to the recruitment process- posting adverts, liaising with candidates, booking interviews & preparing interview packs
  • Assist with preparing offer letters, requesting references, sending out required new starter paperwork.
  • Record & update employee details on the HR system for new starters, mid employment and leavers.
  • Check all PINS, DBS’s and work permits have not expired.
  • Administer electronic DBSs for new starters and renewals for current staff using our online DBS system.
  • Prepare staff personnel files for the line manager to review prior to confirmation of employment.
  • Format HR reports and policies & assist with HR Project work.
  •  Provide administrative support to the Learning & Development Co-ordinator
  • Record keeping of training courses and individual training records as required.
  •  Assist with the organisation of face-to-face training courses.

Apprenticeships are very demanding; you’re working towards a qualification whilst working full time! You’ll need to be committed and motivated as there is lots of self-guided work involved. PLUS, you need GOOD …

  • A GENUINE passion and enthusiasm for working in HR.
  • A willingness to learn and develop.

ANYTHING ELSE?

  • GCSE or equivalent English and Maths grade 4/C or above
  • UK Residency (MUST have lived in the UK for 3 years+)
  • Some office/admin experience (Desired)
