WHO are The Syston Day Nursery?

The Syston Day Nursery offers a homely, calm and stimulating environment for the children to learn and develop. The classrooms are bright, spacious and include a wide variety of resources and equipment which are developmentally appropriate, offering the opportunity for play and exploration.

Their professional staff team are experienced, fully trained and qualified to look after children from 6 weeks up to 5 years in a nurturing, happy and fun environment. They establish excellent relationships with parents and work in partnerships to support the children to reach their full potential.

WHAT will I get from working with The Syston Day Nursery?

• EARN: £7.55 per hour, 39 hours per week
• EXPERIENCE- your hours: Monday to Friday shifts between 8am and 6pm.
• QUALIFICATION: Early Years Educator Level 3 takes approximately 18 months.

WHAT will my DAY look like?

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in Early Years with a keen interest in childcare. This is an apprenticeship role with great progression opportunities where you will train on the job to become a skilled Practitioner whilst gaining valuable experience in the childcare sector. Your daily tasks will include:

• Supporting children’s learning and development.
• Engaging children in fun and educational activities.
• Ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
• Observing and recording children’s progress.
• Assisting with daily routines such as meals, nap times, and outdoor play.
• Working closely with a team of experienced childcare professionals.
• Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

HOW does the Apprenticeship work?

Working towards your Early Years Educator Level 3 Qualification, you’ll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month – NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including risk management, key person & attachment, learning & development, and more!  You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training is completed in the workplace, during working hours.

WHAT skills/qualifications do I NEED?

• Minimum GRADE 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths & English
• UK Residency – must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
• Communication, team working & customer care.
• Organisation, creativity & initiative.
• Non-judgemental & patience.

What happens next?
